Bishop Chatard will be offering Driver Education this summer. The 2025 Summer Driver’s Education Course at Bishop Chatard is a state-certified course open to all BCHS students who are at least 15 years of age by May 24, 2025.
- This course is open only to current or incoming BCHS students.
- Cost: $450, (includes class, driving and test)
- Your choice of classroom dates:
- Session 1: June 2 (Mon) through June 12 (Thu)
- Session 2: June 16 (Mon) through June 26 (Thu)
- Both sessions will meet Saturday morning, May 24 (9 am – noon)
- Normal Class times: 8:00 am to 11:00 am (weekdays)
Classroom Sessions: Students must complete either Session 1 or Session 2 of the in-person instruction portion of the course. Day 1 for all students will be on Saturday, May 24 (9 – noon). Session 1 is from Monday, June 2 through Thursday, June 12. Session 2 is from Monday, June 16 through Thursday, June 26. Normal classroom sessions run from 8am – 11am (Mon-Fri).
In-Car Sessions: Each student will be behind the wheel approximately one hour per day over a six-day period sometime during June and July. The instructor will schedule these driving times later this spring. The online registration form will ask for “unavailable dates” so that we can work around vacation plans.
Registration will be open until April 1, 2025, unless the course is filled before that date.
Learner’s Permits: On or around May 2, each student will receive the BMV form that allows them to get their learner’s permit from the license branch. Students do not have to have their permits prior to the classroom session but they must have their permits before they begin the driving instruction part.
