National School Lunch Program
Bishop Chatard participates in the National School Lunch Program which provides free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch to those students who qualify. Any parent who believes a student may qualify for this program and other benefits it offers, such as textbook assistance, may apply.Applications for the Free/Reduced-Price Meals Program need to be submitted each school year. Applications will open on August 1, 2024.
Program Details
- Families do not need to apply ONLY if they are directly certified: those who receive Medicaid, TANF, SNAP, or other programs that made them directly certified for free/reduced-price lunch benefits. Families in this category will be notified by mail.
- If your situation changes, applications can be made at any time throughout the school year.
- Applications and participation are confidential. Students access this benefit when using their Meal Time account just like all other students.
Did You Know?
- If a student qualifies for free/reduced-price lunches, he/she automatically qualifies for textbook assistance.
- Those who qualify for free/reduced-price school meals are encouraged to contact BCHS College Counselor Abbey Saurine (asaurine@bishopchatard.org) for information about SAT/ACT test fee waivers and possible college application waivers.
How to apply for Free/Reduced-Price Meals

- If you already have a MyMealtime account, use your username/password to login to the above link.
- If you do not have a MyMealtime account, you will need to create one by clicking on 'Create A Profile.'
