“Leaving Iowa” tells the heartwarming story of a writer who returns to Winterset, Iowa, on a road trip to scatter his father’s ashes. As he travels, he reminisces about his family’s quirky road trips filled with odd attractions and unforgettable characters.
This charming and hilarious adventure is for anyone who’s ever survived a family road trip—getting lost, sibling squabbles, and a dad threatening to “turn this car around”! It’s a journey that reminds us that sometimes, it’s all about the ride, not just the destination.
Tickets and Seating
- Order reserved, floor or floor riser seats online. Online sales close 2 hours before the show.
- Box office opens at 6:30 p.m. for general (bleacher) seating or any remaining floor seating.
- All tickets, ordered online or at the door, are ‘Pay What You Can’. We’d suggest $10/ticket. Thank you in advance for your payment!
Purchase a Video Recording of the Show
Family and friends from near and far will be able to view a recording of the Saturday performance, with the purchase of the recording for $10. Recording orders close on Sunday, Nov. 17.

- Doors open 30 minutes before showtime for you to choose your seat.

- All tickets are general seating, first come – first served.

- In the event of a sell-out, pre-purchased tickets will be released 5 minutes before ‘curtain time’.
