The BCHS Journalism Department has been named a finalist for the Hoosier Star Award in the Rowena Harvey Award competition. This competition recognizes outstanding individual and staff achievements in responsible, effective journalism.
Submissions are evaluated across various categories, including Academic, News/Current Events, Photo Portfolio, Spot News Photos, and Sports Photos. This year, yearbook students Logan Baker, Lucy Lake, Grayson Ratterman, Mary Kate Ryan, Megan Todd, and Catherine Thrasher earned individual awards for their outstanding contributions.
The overall winners will be announced in February 2025.
Last year, the team earned a “superior” rating for the 2023-2024 yearbook in the Indiana High School Press Association State Competition—the highest possible ranking. BCHS received “superior” ratings in four out of six categories, making its yearbook one of the top in the state.
