Carne Asada: May 10

The BCHS Latino Student Union ‘Latinos Unidos’ invites you to Carne Asada. This is an annual event bringing current students together with incoming freshmen to build community and connection.

Open to all students, the event celebrates Latino culture while highlighting Bishop Chatard’s commitment to faith and service. Come enjoy great food, great company, and learn more about our amazing Latino community.


Citizenship Grants provide a way for your student to earn money towards tuition via summer work at BCHS. These grants are designed and prioritized to help those with financial aid need, but open to all students. Apply by May 12.

A virtual meeting will be held on Mon., April 28, 2025 at 7 pm for the parents of incoming freshmen who are interested in trying out for the BCHS Girls Volleyball Team. We will discuss dates, times and expectations, and we’ll answer any questions you may have regarding the summer schedule.

Students can take proficiency tests for Algebra I, Spanish I, Latin I, and Geometry on Saturday, April 26, 2025, to help with placement levels in their freshman classes. Tests will be given at BCHS as follows:

  • Spanish or Latin: 8:00 – 9:00 am
  • Algebra: 9:30 – 10:30 am
  • Geometry: 11:00 am – noon

*These will be available during the test, or print and bring them with you

Tryouts for incoming freshmen and current BCHS students interested in being cheerleaders for the 2025-26 season are set for Friday, April 25. Two practice/review sessions will be held April 23 and April 24. Tryout videos are available.. Questions? contact Coach O’Rourke at sorourke@bishopchatard.org

Callout meeting will be held on April 28, 7:00-7:45 pm, in the cafeteria. Enter through Door #10. We encourage incoming freshman families interested in the girls’ soccer program to attend the meeting for information on the coaching staff, summer program, and key dates. Anyone unable to attend- please contact Coach Ashton Balch at abalch@bishopchatard.org

BCHS will offer Health Class during the summer. The class will be conducted Monday to Friday, June 2 – 20, from 8 to 11:30 am. One credit hour is earned for the course. This summer school class is a great way to earn a credit hour and open space in a schedule for other courses over the student’s high school career. The cost is $200.

This course is conducted in person on the Bishop Chatard campus.

Bishop Chatard Summer Math Academy is a review of foundational mathematical elements essential to Algebra 1 taught by high school math teachers. The designed purpose of this academy is to prepare freshman students for success in high school level math.

This camp for all incoming freshmen instrumentalists will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at BCHS. Watch this space for further details.

Mark your calendars for this important meeting, introducing parents/guardians to BCHS personnel and general procedures. Details will be posted as they become available.
While you are at the New Parent Meeting, stop by the BCHS Used Uniform & Spiritwear Sale on June 17 from 5 – 7 pm in the cafeteria. Polos, shorts, pants, sweatshirts, and other items will be available at very discounted prices. Cash, check, credit card, or Venmo payments will be accepted.

Any student wishing to play must have a signed IHSAA physical submitted by July 31, 2025.
In addition, all students participating in any BCHS sport will need a Final Forms account. Physicals need to be conducted after April 1 to be valid for the entire school year. These forms are now ready to complete for the 2025-26 school year.

Summer conditioning for various sports will be added to the summer conditioning page as they are received.

Watch for emails in late July/early August with directions on setting up PowerSchool logins and updating your information. Setup for MyMealTime, our school lunch payment program will also be communicated. Watch emails and this space for information.
Enjoy the fun as you drop your student off for the first day of school, and then join us at the New Parent Meet and Greet (August 6). Details will be posted as they become available.


Immunization records need to be up-to-date by the beginning of the school year, August 2025. Documents can be emailed to nurses@bishopchatard.org

Official school uniforms can be purchased through Schoolbelles (School code: S1664), online or through their store at 6315 N. Keystone Ave.

BCHS Uniform Sweatshirts are only available through the BCHS Spirit Shop

The approved uniform sweatshirts, 1/4 zip or crewneck, can only be purchased through the BCHS Spirit Shop, located by the concession stand downstairs near the cafeteria, or through the online Spirit Shop.

Summer Sports Moratorium

During these 2 weeks in the summer, all athletic activity halts. IHSAA schedules one and BCHS adds another.

  • IHSAA Moratorium: June 30 – July 6, 2025
  • BCHS Moratorium: July 28 – August 3, 2025

Sports Physicals for 2025/2026

Physicals performed after April 1, 2025, will be accepted for the entire 2025/2026 school year for your athlete.
