“I’ve been coaching basketball, in some capacity, for nearly 20 years. It is a game I love and a game that has meant so much to me throughout my life. When I stepped into the conversation about the head boy’s basketball coach at Bishop Chatard and learned there was an opportunity to positively affect the experience of the basketball players in the program, I jumped at the chance,” said Boling. “I am excited to continue using my love of the game to support the young men in our community on their journey towards finding what makes them successful.”
Prior to coaching, Boling played collegiately at Taylor University. He is a graduate of Lawrence North High School, where he also played for Coach Kieffer.
Before joining the academic support program at Marian, Boling worked in the technology field as a Success Consultant and Account Manager. In 2017, he served as a College and Career Counselor at Providence Cristo Rey High School. Prior to his work in guidance, Boling was the Team Coordinator for Student Success at Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis from 2014-18. He entered his work in the education field in 2008, serving as the Director of the My Achievement Center at Lawrence North High School.
Boling and his wife, Jenny, were married at St. Pius X Catholic Church, and have three sons, Quincy (7th grader), Grady (5th grader), and Sonny, (4th grader). They are active parishioners at St. Joan of Arc.
“We are excited for Coach Boling and his family to join the Bishop Chatard community,” said Bishop Chatard Athletic Director, Kyle Reh. “Coach Boling has been mentored by outstanding coaches throughout his playing and coaching career, and we look forward to him leading the young people in our boys basketball program, both on and off the court.”
Coach Boling is excited to get to work immediately. The Trojans open up their season Dec. 7, 2024, against Montini Catholic (IL) at Hoosier Gym with a boys and girls doubleheader.
