Sophomore boys attend Men of God, a nearly parallel retreat experience to the girls’ retreat. They will listen to witness talks given by senior leaders and staff members, share with each other in small groups, hear stories of vocation from local priests and religious brothers, visit a diocesan seminary, and participate in activities that encourage them to be vulnerable and honest.
One minor theme that we are exploring on the boys’ retreat is poverty and solidarity. Just around the corner from BCHS, there are individuals who go without basic necessities of food, water, and shelter every day. Therefore, we will be going without showering for the whole retreat; boys are encouraged to still bring toiletries but won’t be given the option to shower. We are also going to be sleeping on the floor.
