  • Summer Field Studies Info Meeting: Sept 30 (Mon): Join us on Mon, Sept 30, 2024, to learn about the 2025 Summer Field Studies trip to Colorado for interested junior or senior students. Students and parents are invited to attend this info meeting held in the theatre room (102) at 6:30 p.m.
  • Peer Tutor Club Signup begins Aug. 26 (Mon): If you are in National Honors Society/Spanish National Honors Society/SUMMA, if you need service hours, or if you just want to help your fellow classmates, then you can join the Peer Tutor Club! Fill out the survey and someone from Guidance will contact you when someone is looking for a tutor. Email Ms. Katra (skatra@bishopchatard.org) for more details.
  • Powderpuff Football: Register by Aug. 30: Will the Class of '25 defend their championship and go back-to-back or will there be an unlikely upset?! Calling all Lady Trojans to be part of this Sept. tourney. The championship game is played during the Sept. 20 school pep rally. Also looking for 2-3 student coaches for the teams.
  • Latinos Unidos Callout - Sept. 3 (Tues) during Seminar in Room 319. This club seeks to build community and celebrate Latino culture & heritage through engaging discussions, programming, and activity. Open to all BCHS students! Email Mr. Quintero (rquintero@bishopchatard.org) for more details.
  • Mock Trial Team Callout: Sept. 4 (Wed): Join the Mock Trial Team where you learn how to argue like a lawyer in a real courtroom, how to cross-examine opposing witnesses and how to object without being objectionable! Callout is Wed, Sept. 4 from 3:20 to 4:15 in Art Room A. Can't make it? Let Mrs. Johnson know at Ljohnson@bishopchatard.org
  • Fall Play Auditions are Sept. 5; Signups are open: Be part of 'Leaving Iowa', a comedy about road trips that will be presented Nov. 7-9. Read important information before signing up for an audition. Anyone interested is encouraged to audition! Crew signup is also open.
  • Girls Lacrosse Callout: Sept. 6 (Fri) BCHS Girls Lacrosse Callout for the Spring 2025 season is Fri, Sept. 6, 11:05-11:35 a.m. during Seminar in the main gym. Open to all athletes interested in playing lacrosse, including athletes new to the sport. Cannot attend but want to play? Contact Coach Jerrell at jjerrell@bishopchatard
  • CSI Cincinnati: Applications are due Sept. 6:Join us over Fall Break, October 14th-17th, for CSI Cincinnati 2024! Students will spend the week practicing Christian service, learning about Catholic Social Teaching, spending time in prayer, and living in community with their peers. Open to all students, the trip fulfills the entire 24/25 Christian Service Requirement.
  • Senior Yearbook Photos: sign up is open: Photos will be taken Sept. 11, 12, 14, 16, 2024. Sign up soon to choose a time that works for you! To be in the yearbook, senior photos must be taken during these times.

Info For Seniors

  • Seniors: SAT School Day is Oct. 9; sign up by Aug. 29: BCHS offers the SAT School Day to senior students on Wed, Oct. 9, 2024. Register and pay for the test at the link below. Cost is $48. Scores are anticipated to be available October 24. The deadline to sign up is Aug. 29. If you qualify for a fee waiver, see Mrs. Saurine or Mrs. Wilson in Guidance.

  • Christian Service Opportunities

    Area 1 Opportunities: Service to BCHS, Parish or Faith Community

    • St. Matthew Aftercare: St. Matthew is looking for BCHS students to work in their aftercare program. For information, contact Jo Keating jkeating@saintmatt.org
    • Christ the King Aftercare: Christ the King is looking for a few high school students to work in their Aftercare program either every day of the week or a few days a week. The hours would be after BCHS dismissal until 6:00 p.m. at the latest. Responsibilities include monitoring students on the playground, helping in the homework room, and/or supervising students in other activities. If interested, please contact the principal, Kortney Wenclewicz, at kwenclewicz@cks-indy.org or by calling the school office at 317-257-9366.
    • St. Joan of Arc French Market Festival: St. Joan of Arc needs BCHS helpers to assist with their festival on 9/7. Sign up here!

    Area 2 Opportunities: Service rooted in Catholic Social Teaching

    • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd: Join Ms. O'Brien in leading a religious education class for 3-6 year-olds at Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Sundays from 10am-12pm. Reach out to Ms. O'Brien (mobrien@bishopchatard.org) to sign up!
    • Vagabond Ministries: Aug. 21 (Wed): Prepare a meal for a group of young women with small babies. Help is needed on Aug. 21 from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. Sign up Here
    • Second Helpings: Aug. 27: Join Mrs. Johnson in preparing a meal from 3:30-8pm on 8/27 Sign up here
    • St. Augustine's Home: Sept. 5: Join us to spend time with the residents of St. Augustine's Home for the Aged on 9/5. Sign up here!

    • Free SAT, AP, and Math Tutoring via Schoolhouse.world for grades 8-12. Free tutoring for SATs, math courses, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Live small-group tutoring via Zoom will focus on SAT reading, writing, and math as well as AP course tutoring in calculus, statistics, chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science.
