16-year old BCHS student Olivia Julian was overwhelmed by the story she heard in her class at BCHS. Kitzito Kalima had come from his Indianapolis foundation, Peace Center for Forgiveness and Reconciliation, to the classroom to share his story of survival of genocide in Rwanda. After volunteering weekly at the Center helping children refugees from Rwanda and Burundi, Olivia came up with the idea of a soccer clinic for the refugees. With help from her classmate Molly Grant, and three of her BCHS soccer teammates: Hannah Chapman, Abby Klineman and Elizabeth Jacobson, the clinic provided a chance to make connections and affirm that hope and forgiveness do prevail.
