Bishop Chatard Achievement Awards are presented annually to members of the educational community who embrace and epitomize the mission and values of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis North Deanery High School. Nominations are now being accepted for 2010 honorees. See Achievement Awards for more information and the nomination form.

New Sports Field was dedicated

On Saturday, Oct. 10, IndyParks hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Riverwood Park (7301 Crittenden Ave.) to dedicate the new park and sports field facility. A partnership between Indy Parks and BCHS has enabled the fields at Riverwood to become the practice and home fields for BCHS boys and girls soccer and lacrosse teams! The goal is to have the fields ready for competition play by next spring! See "Chatard and IndyParks partner" article on the right for further details.

After-School Student Life Center is created

By day, the Bishop Chatard Media Center serves as a place where students can locate books, conduct research and create presentations. After hours, the Media Center converts into a Student Life Center where students can comfortably wait for a ride home or for after-school activities to begin. The Student Life Center provides both the opportunity for quiet study or the chance to hang out and socialize with friends in a supervised environment.

BCHS Music and Theatre Departments Announce 2009-10 Schedule

The BCHS Music and Theatre Departments have announced their scheduled appearances and concerts for the 2009-10 school year. The new Music and Drama Booster Club page displays their schedule and the activities of the Booster Clubs. All are welcome to the events.

Women's Bowling League invites you!

The Bishop Chatard Ladies Bowling League is gearing up for another fun-filled year, and the group is welcoming new members. The group bowls on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Woodland Bowl at 96th and Keystone. Bowlers of all skill levels are welcome to join, and room exists for mothers to set up playpens for children.
A small fee is charged for weekly bowling, and all proceeds are donated to Bishop Chatard. The group enjoys several special events each year, including the annual Christmas lunch hosted by the high school. Interested bowlers are encouraged to contact Pam Spangler at 876-3606 or e-mail pam@spangfam.com

Bishop Chatard High School receives Exemplary Ranking

Bishop Chatard is proud to announce that is has been awarded the ranking of "Exemplary School" in 2009 under the The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) requires schools to show annual improvements in the academic achievement of the overall student population and certain identified subgroups within the general population.
Our status is the result of "improvement in the passing percentage of students passing ISTEP+ over a three-year period".
