2009 Track Season Notes

3200 Relay Congratulations to the girls 3200M relay team as they placed 2ND in the STATE! StatePoleVault The team consisted of Maggie Bell, M ary Davis, Emily Boyce and Christine Kirby. They also smashed the old school record by 7 seconds. Congraulations also to Pole Vaulter, Alex Metzger w ho placed 3rd in the STATE and tied her own school record! Well done, Lady Trojans!

Congratulations to BCHS boys and girls track and field athletes who competed in the All-Catholic Championship! Our girls finished 2nd and our boys program took 3rd. BCHS had 8 meet champions: Maggie Bell (100 meters and 200 meters), Christine Kirby (800 meters), Mary Davis (1600 meters), Emily Boyce (3200 meters), the 4 x 800 relay of (Christen Salyer, Emily Boyce, Angela Nebesny and Christine Kirby), Felix Metzger (Pole Vault) and Daniel Hurrle (High Jump).

In addition, Maggie Bell was recognized as the most valuable female athlete of the meet! Great job Trojans!

Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Track and Field Program who competed this past weekend at the Indoor State Finals! Our girls program was crowned champions of class 1a - 3a and our boys program finished 4th.

In addition, we had 5 meet champions: Shawn Nickleson (long jump), Daniel Hurrle (high jump), Alex Metzger (pole vault), the girls 4 x 200 relay of Maggie Bell, Marianne Holland, Kourtney Crawford and Paige Laconi, and the girls 4 x 800 relay of Christen Salyer, Emily Boyce, Mary Davis and Christine Kirby!

In addition, Daniel Hurrle and Alex Metzger both broke the outdoor school record in their respective events; however, the previous record stands as it is for outdoor competitions only- a great accomplishment nonetheless!

The Track and Field program had 6 champions at the DePauw Invitational.

Congratulations to our field event champions: Daniel Hurrle (high jump), Shawn Nickleson (long jump) and Maggie Bell (long Jump). In addition, three relays were crowned champions: the 1600 meter relay of Paige Laconi, Marianne Holland, Christine Kirby and Maggie Bell, the 3200 meter relay of Christen Salyer, Arden Burch, Annie Dietrick and Emily Boyce, the DMR of Mary Davis, Katie Barnes, Christen Salyer and Christine Kirby.

Also congratulations to Angela Nebesny (3200 meters), the girls 4 x 200 meter relay of Maggie Bell, Marianne Holland, Bridget Tasker and Paige Laconi, Shawn Nickleson (55 meters), the boys 4 x 400 meter relay of Braylon Parham, Shawn Nickleson, Dylan Gray and Chris Mark, the boys 4 x 400 relay of Braylon Parham, Joe Mark, Chris Mark, and Patrick Rivelli, and the DMR of Danny Scheidler, Nick Siderys, Nick Boyce and Jackson Webber all qualified for the Indoor State Finals.
