The last place Teddy Guzek expected to see himself was on ESPN's "Play of the Day."

Guzek's amazing 85-foot shot Saturday has become an Internet sensation, making the Bishop Chatard sophomore an instant celebrity around his school.

Here's the crazy part: Guzek was just attempting to heave the ball to the other end of the court, never expecting to score.

"I ran after the ball, trying to keep it from going out of bounds," Guzek said. "I looked at the clock and threw it. I wasn't even trying to make it. I wasn't looking, then I looked back and it went in and everybody started screaming."

Guzek's heave -- which looked like a track and field athlete throwing a discus -- came at the end of the first half of Chatard's 26-23 junior varsity win over Broad Ripple. Chatard varsity coach Chris Quinn said Guzek comes off the bench and averages four points a game.
