Girls JV Basketball Notes


The J.V. girl's basketball team finished their season Sat in the J.V. invitational tournament. The first game matched up a tough Southport team against Chatard. After a hard fight, the Lady Trojans fell short by 7 points. Heather O'Brien put in a game high 17 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Elizabeth Schueth scored 8 points and also pulled down 8 rebounds. In the consolation game, the Lady Trojans faced Crispus Attucks. Chatard rolled to victory to end their season on a strong win! Kayla Williams led the way with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Thank you for your support of the J.V. girl's basketball team this season.

The Chatard J.V. girl's basketball team defeated the Broad Ripple Rockets Thursday night. The Lady Trojans showed their best three point shooting of the season hitting 57% from behind the three-point line! Some individual contributions came from Heather O'Brien, who scored a game-high 11 points followed by Elizabeth Schueth who put in 5 points. Bridget Tasker came up with 2 big steals, and Taylor Miller pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds!

After a tough first half, the Lady Trojans pulled away in the second half to defeat the Ritter Raiders by a final score of Chatard 53, Ritter 31. Game leaders include: Elizabeth Schueth with 11 points, Hillary Gray with 9, and Brittany Siegler with 7 points. Brittany Siegler also pulled down a game high 14 rebounds, followed by Taylor Miller with 11. Heather O'Brien had a game high 6 assists for the game.

In a tough battle, the J.V. girl's basketball team of Chatard came up just short in Tuesday night's effort, which found Chatard playing in round 2 of the City Tournament. A tough Covenant Christian J.V. team was the opponent standing in the way for Chatard. Leaders in the game include Hillary Gray, who scored a team high 8 points. Elizabeth Schueth and Brittany Siegler each added 7 rebounds, while Heather O'Briend added 7 points and 6 good assists! The J.V. girl's basketball team will now have a couple weeks off of games, but please plan to come out and support us in January as we play many home games throughout January.

The J.V. Girl's basketball team won a great game last night to move on to round 2 in this year's City Tournament! The J.V. Trojans took on the Hornets of Howe. Leaders for Chatard include Hillary Gray with a game high 8 pts. Heather O'Brien chipped in 8 rebounds and 5 steals, while Rachel Ward added 6 assists and 7 big steals! Please join us tonight at 6 p.m. at Chatard as the J.V. lady Trojans will play in round 2 of the City Tournament.

The Trojans JV team fought hard, but came up short in a tough matchup against Lawrence North. Heather O'Brien led the Trojan's scoring with 11 points; Hillary Gray had 9. Rachel Ward came up with 5 big steals, and Lauren Huffine led rebounding with 7. LN 49, BCHS 32.

In a close game between two very good defensive teams, the battle came down to the final seconds. Chatard overcame an 8 point first quarter deficit to cut Cathedral's lead to only 1 at halftime! Aggressive play continued in the second half only to be outdone by the Irish in a 29 to 32 defeat. Chatard was led by Maggie Salyer with 7 points. Rebounding was strong with Heather O'Brien: 6 rebounds, Brittany Siegler and Taylor Miller each with 4 rebounds!

In their game against University H.S., the JV Lady Trojans worked together for a season low 7 turnovers. defeating the Trailblazers of University H.S. by a score of 49 to 14. The Trojans were led by Elizabeth Schueth with 12 points and 7 rebounds! Heather O'Brien added 8 points and 7 steals. The Trojans next opponent is Thursday night (12/4) at Northwest H.S. (6p.m. followed by Varsity @ 7:30p.m.)
